Lucent

I didn’t plan on staying this long, but something told me to wait. The sky had been grey all afternoon, but just as the sun began to drop, everything shifted. Light broke through like it had been saving its best for last  warm, golden, and spilling across the cliffs like fire. I walked down to the sand, following a trail of old footprints that faded as the tide crept in. For a moment, the whole place felt untouched and alive. Just me, the ocean, and these giant stacks catching the last of the day. I didn’t speak. Didn’t need to. Some scenes just ask you to be still and let them wash over you.
