Sense of Place is a site-specific photographic commission: an original visual response to a location, created for the people who live, stay, work or arrive there. Rather than photographing a property as an advertisement, Mitchell looks outward into the surrounding landscape, wildlife, weather and details that give the place its identity.

Mitchell spends time in the surrounding landscape finding the visual language of the place — light, weather, terrain, wildlife and the quieter details that give it identity.
